Shining S.T.A.R.S.

The Shining S.T.A.R.S. site is for young people.  We don't hear often enough about all the wonderful things young people do.  This is a chance to tell your story.  Share with us what you are doing in school, church, home or community.  If you have a story you want to share or have an example of a shining moment, email or contact us.  If we select your story we will post your school info, picture and story here.
Student Testimonials
These testimonials were given by studens who graduated from the Jr. S.T.A.R.S. program.  They are from Millennium middle school and are shining examples of S.T.A.R.S. students.  We are very proud of them.

Good afternoon fellow students, and teachers.  I am here to tell you the meaning of the S.T.A.R.S. program and how it has helped me.  First I will tell you what the word S.T.A.R.S. stands for.  It stands for Students That Are Accountable Responsible Successful.  To be successful in this life I know that I have to not only be responsible but also accountable for the choices I make and the things I do!  The S.T.A.R.S. program has helped me with my weaknesses A LOT!  I hope that I will do the right thing in life.  Thank you Mr. D for your time and patience in coming to Millennium Middle school to teach my fellow students and myself about the S.T.A.R.S. program.  You have given us a lot to think about.

Mr D. has taught me many things.  He has shown me everything I need to know about staying away from drugs.  He has shown us how to build a portfolio, to be a leader, set goals, and how to achieve what you want.  I learned how to be a S.T.A.R.S. student and have changed my attitude.  He taught me how to go for my dreams and what life is really about.

Throughout this program  I have learned a lot.  Half of the stuff I already heard about and knew before but when I heard it from him I realized that it is all right.  He taught me to take chances.  If opportunity knocks open the door because if you don't you may not have another chance.  I learned that everyone should believe in themselves.  If you don't believe in yourself no one will.  I hope all the followers listened when Mr. D said be a leader not a follower.  If you follow someone elses path you will get lost and confused, but if you lead your own path you will know where you are going.
